PARTY!

I just love it when friends from far-away land come to town!
Old memories exchanged, laughter and chatters fill the air and lovely parties ensues - ahh the fun times we had!

For the occasion, I made these lovely and simple cupcakes topped with sparkly flags <it's a celebration!> + rainbow polka-dots cups and a touch of lavender:

Duo flavour: vanilla buttercream and PUMPKIN SPICE <with cream cheese - I think this is currently my FAVOURITE fall flavour > Yumm! 

I like it so much that I am secretly waiting for a yucky rainy day so I can whip up a batch of warm pumpkin spice cupcake to fill the air with yummy pumpkin smells *AHH*. Pair it with a warm mug of vanilla rooibos tea, a warm throw, a big window to watch the rain/people with umbrellas below and it's the perfect rainy day.

Had so much fun making and painting this cutie-face! It was corn-starch, fondant and food colouring all over the kitchen! *WHEEE* I really love how plumpy she turns out *tee hee hee*

CITY OF CRAFT - We're IN! *WOO HOO*

 TOOT TOOT!

We are beyond excited to be accepted to City of Craft Winter show this year! *YAAY* !!! These bunny-cupcakes submission DID US PROUD! 

I was twiddling my thumbs nervously this past weekend waiting for news if we got in or not. We LOVE this show and have visited it many times in the past as visitors. If you're new to City of Craft, it is an awesome craft show in Toronto full of nifty crafty creations by local artists. It's an excellent place to shop for the holidays and meet the best crafty makers + shakers in Toronto!

Well anyways, we decided to try-out for the BIG WINTER SHOW that's JURIED (Go big or go home right?). Out of 300-500 applicants only 40-50 vendors are accepted. The good news came in the early morning on Tuesday (around 3AM exactly) and I am happy to say I am a nervous-wreck NO-MORE *HOORAY*!

{Pup cake} Happy Birthday, Monsieur Tobias! *woof*

We made this pup cake for Nikke's sister's Yorkie's second birthday - his name is Toby and he's full of mustache! :D

Peanut Butter & Banana Pup Cake 
-1 1/2 cup all purpose (or whole wheat unbleached) flour
-1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
-1/2 cup peanut butter 
- 2 bananas, smashed
-1/3 cup honey
-1/2 cup oil
- approximately 3/4 cup water

1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F
2. Spray the cake pans (I used 3 x 4" cake pans) with non stick pan spray 
3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.  Add the oil, egg, peanut butter, honey, and banana.  Add in the water as needed
4. Divide the batter into the pans and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.  Remove cake from pan and allow it to completely cool before icing

Icing
- All natural yogurt (or cream cheese)
- Peanut butter (optional)

Whisk together the yogurt & peanut butter until blended.

Decorate the cake with the icing and put milk bones around the edge. 
Don't forget the candles, party hat, and birthday outfit! It's party tiiiiiime! :D

Chubby Bunnies!

We just realized that we haven't made chubby bunny cupcakes at all! So when we decided to apply for City of Craft this winter, we just have to make these cupcakes! Mini + regular-size pumpkin spice, vanilla, and chocolate - finished with hand-painted chubby bunnies toppers! Hope they like them :)

Today marks the first official first day of school! Sadly, we finished our school way back in 2007. Yes we are not that young anymore *sniff* BUT if we were to go to school today - we would loveee to wear this outfit. And yes, we would carry that mug around ;)
